The monthly newsletter published by 'Kick Off' contains brief and relevant educational material, news articles, health facts & information relating to those involved in Rugby League, such as concussion, retirement, drugs & alcohol, behaviour and the latest news & views. It also provides contact details along with our various programs & service structure.

The Newsletter is FREE and available to anyone who wishes to subscribe. Simply fill out the subscription form and you will receive your copy each month. For clubs who have engaged our service, copies will be provided to all players, coaching & conditioning staff, administrators etc., automatically.

Mental Health issues cannot be highlighted only when something 'major' happens or when there is a specific 'day' or 'week' or 'month' set aside for its' exposure. It needs to be constantly promoted with increased frequent focus on raising awareness of Mental Health & 'ill-health'. The 'Kick Off' Newsletter is part of this aim.

The Newsletter is also available 'on-line' for perusal and we anticipate a 'downloading' option in the near future.

Subject matter includes such things as:

  • Contact information for 'Kick Off' and the various team members
  • Latest 'relevant' mental health news
  • Suggested reading material
  • Testimonials from ex-players
  • Topics such as 'depression', 'suicide', 'self esteem', 'alcohol & drugs', 'behaviour', 'junior league' etc
  • Links to other associated or affiliated organisations
  • Health promotion concepts & suggestions
  • Illness prevention
  • Early identification methods

Below is a copy of our very first newsletter (Andrew Johns'a lesson to be learned') Volume 1, Issue 1. (September, 2007) As you can see, it is brief in contents, allowing for ease of use. It serves as a useful reminder however of 'Kick Off''s functions and how we might be contacted and how we operate.
